LaserPhilly is an independently owned gift shop and design studio dedicated to providing our customers with well-designed, unusually clever giftable goods and top-notch custom laser cutting services. We craft and curate some of the cutest, most thought-provoking, and functional goods from over 80 artists and designers worldwide.

Role Summary

At LaserPhilly, we’re on the hunt for a dynamic, self-starting customer service associate with a passion for quirky gifts and a knack for connecting with people. Our team, proud members of the LGBTQ community, thrives on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. We need someone curious and eager to learn, who finds joy in helping customers discover the perfect products. A great sense of humor is a must! You’ll engage with our awesome customers, keep our inventory in check, make those small but mighty website updates, and help whip up some fabulous social media content. We’re looking for someone who can work independently, take initiative, and see our store’s success as a worthy investment of their time and talent. If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service:

  • Engage with customers to build relationships and make product recommendations.
  • Present yourself as an expert on our products.
  • Handle transactions and provide exceptional customer service.

Inventory Management:

  • Receive and stock inventory.
  • Use our inventory management software to categorize and track products accurately.

Store Maintenance:

  • Keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Take ownership of the store’s presentation and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Independently perform opening and closing procedures.

Compensation

  • $16/hr

Qualifications

  • Great communicators who are outgoing and friendly.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25lbs.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Weekend availability.
  • Prior retail experience preferred.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new tasks and technologies.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Some design experience is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms.
